The SkinPen by Bellus Medical is the first and only FDA approved class II medical grade microneedling device. The SkinPen causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.

The SkinPen is safe for all skin types and can be performed any time of the year. Medical grade numbing is typically applied to the treatment area for 60 minutes prior and the procedure takes about 30 minutes. Some redness and swelling immediately after the procedure is common and there is usually minimal downtime. You may notice healthier looking skin immediately however the natural repair process of your skin will progress over the following months. It is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3 to 5 treatments spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.
