Cosmetic Mole Removal
Dr. Flanagan can remove cosmetically undesirable moles with a quick and simple procedure in the office. She will give detailed instructions at the time of the visit about care of the treated area for the best cosmetic results.
Botox injections relax facial muscles, giving a more youthful appearance. Botox lasts about 3-4 months on average, and with regular injections in certain areas, the effects can last longer. One can have bruising, bleeding or injection site tenderness as a result of injecting Botox, but this quick and easy procedure is an easy way to look more rested and refreshed.
Juvederm is an injectable dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid which is used to correct areas of volume loss in the face such as nasolabial folds (“parentheses”) and marionette lines (“smile lines”) and can enhance areas like the lips. Juvederm injections last 9-12 months. Juvederm is composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of our skin. The most common side effects include tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, and discomfort. Dr. Flanagan will have a detailed consultation with you about cosmetic needs and expectations to help you make the right decision for you.
Juvederm® XC Voluma
Voluma is an injectable deep dermal filler similar to Juvederm but used specifically for volume loss restoration in the mid face and cheek. Similar to Juvederm, Voluma is made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of the skin. Voluma can last up to 1.5-2 years when volume loss is fully corrected. The most common side effects include tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, and discomfort. Dr. Flanagan will have a detailed consultation with you about cosmetic needs and expectations to help you make the right decision for you.
Juvederm® Volbella XC
Volbella is a new injectable dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid similar to Voluma and Juvederm. This new filler has the ability to fill stubborn superficial lines around the mouth but has a very natural and soft look when used to improve volume in areas like the lips without looking “done”. Volbella is also the only hyaluronic filler to last 1 year in the lips and the lip lines around the mouth.
What is Kybella?
Kybella is the first and only FDA approved non-surgical treatment for double chin, also known as “submental fullness”. Kybella is the only non-surgical treatment that improves the appearance and profile of patients with a double chin. Kybella treatments are quick, require little downtime and deliver long lasting results.
How Does Kybella Work?
Kybella is an injectable form of deoxycholic acid which permanently destroys fat cells in patients with excess fat under the chin. Kybella destroys only the fat cells under the chin and does no harm to any other tissue in the skin. Over time, the skin under the chin is pulled tighter and smoother from the healing process that follows the injections.
What Should I Expect From My Kybella Treatment?
Patients will numb with topical numbing cream for 20 minutes prior to the injections. Kybella injections take about 10 minutes and cause a tingling sensation for about 20 minutes after the injections. Typically, patients have swelling under the chin for a few days after injections as a result of the fat cell destruction. In the first few weeks after the treatment, patients see improvement in the contour of their jawline, and will continue to see improvement up to 1 month after treatment completion.
How Often Do I Need To Be Treated?
Most patients require 2-3 treatments four weeks apart for optimal results. However, some patients require more treatments based on their degree of submental fullness. Dr. Flanagan will customize your treatment based on your submental fullness.
How Long Does Kybella Last?
The fat cells under the chin are permanently destroyed by Kybella injections and should not return. If you develop new submental fullness, you would require more treatments. However, research studies have shown that new fat cells do not develop in areas treated with Kybella.
